Wayne Abbott

Wayne and Jocelyne Abbott started Northern Sky Entertainment in the mid 1990s and began developing and producing their own programs for various networks including the Gemini nominated BETWEEN HERE AND HEAVEN for CBC Witness that was up for the Donald Brittain Award for best documentary, and UNLUCKY LADY for History TV that began their long road producing military history stories.

He has produced, directed and filmed various types of programming ranging from social political, history, adventure, nature, environmental and human rights.  He has attempted to push the boundaries of story telling through his experience as a director, cinematographer, editor. writer and presenter resulting in visually stunning, story driven and often emotionally captivating films.

He has produced and directed bigger, bolder programs like DIEPPE UNCOVERED that revealed a completely new story and changed history with regards to the failed Raid on Dieppe in 1942; and the co-created the DRAIN series that takes viewers on a fascinating journey into the unseen world beneath the oceans and lakes. He has produced and directed 5 Drain TV specials including Drain the Titanic, Drain the Great Lakes and Drain Alcatraz. Abbott also created and produced the series War Junk that tells the story of war by what has been left behind on the battlefield. He is also the co-host of the series.  

As a presenter, he was also part of BURIED WAR that he created and produced about the Battle of Passchendale and will be seen in an upcoming episode of History’s Greatest Mysteries seen on History US (A&E) hosted by Lawerence Fishburne.

Abbott continues to develop programming and has recently finished his first feature film script called CAPTIVE.
